Las Vegas, Nevada can be described in two words: sin and fun. There is nothing like this combination if received in moderation. Experiencing Vegas for a weekend was well needed. I traveled the strip, danced within nightclubs, and possibly found love. A hopeless romantic! No longer hopeless and not quite in love. The meeting began at Pure, a popular nightclub in Vegas. As thoughts passed through my mind while dancing, I had feelings of pessimism seeing the crowd move side by side without “HIM” in sight. As a friend and I moved to the music we felt like the women of the night, in which both men and women noticed. At least three hours passed with several dances and a comment from a partygoer asking for marriage, then it happened. He was there: a color of bronze, a little taller than I, and the brightest smile. God teased me that night because I never heard from him there after.
Part 2:
It was the night after Christmas and the bar patrons seemed bright. Bobbling over to the bar expecting to see “HIM,” I grabbed an appletini while glancing around. After heading from the bar over to the dance floor it became evident I was going to make the best of the night. “It’s so hard when you have the ugly guy dancing all over you like he has a real chance.” Overcoming bad breath gave me a sense of confidence as if I could handle it all. Hours passed and then there was drama. Apparently three girls thought they could steal a friend’s purse, so we rushed around the bar with anxiety on our shoulders. A threat and a twenty-dollar bill led the thieves to hand over the purse. Luckily none of our more important items were stolen only a cell phone that could easily be replaced. The mayhem was over and soon I found myself back on the dance floor. Closer to the ending of the night, I spotted him. We swiftly pulled closer together to get better looks. “He opened a door to feelings that I had not felt for some time now.” Soon we knew certain things about each other and some information more coincidental than others. The fact that he lives several blocks away from me and in the same city made us realize we had more in common than we thought. So he pulled for the apple and got all of my contact information. To be continued………
