Fashion for a great cause: #Missblackcaliforniausa2013

I love seeing the youth in my community conquer their goals. It takes a really big heart and lots of drive to get to the next phase, next step and next moment in life. Annually, I am asked to partake in Allen Temple Baptist Church's Scholarship Fashion Show to benefit the youth attending Allen Temple Baptist Church. It's always an honor to walk the runway for this great fashion forward cause.

This year, the fashion show was particularly special because each of the "couture" models got to wear their own clothing, right from their closet. This gave me the opportunity to really show my fashion prowess and have a great time all while doing so.

This fundraiser fashion show raises a hefty amount for the lucky scholar or scholars that will get to use the money to fulfill their college goals. Books, tuition and other college expenses sometimes burden young and aspiring adults when it comes down to attending their College or University.

I know the feeling of desiring just a little help as a University student and to have a community leader like Allen Temple Baptist Church provide such an awesome opportunity and to be a part of this event makes my life have more purpose and prosperity.

What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. James 2: 14-17
